CPDM militants of Fako IV have again underscored their determination to rally behind the ideals incarnated by the New Deal government of President Paul Biya. During the 23rd anniversary celebrations held at the CBC Mutengene school field, hundreds of militants did not fail to hail the consolidation of national unity, economic growth, peace and stability enjoyed by all Cameroonians thanks to the brilliant leadership of President Paul Biya.
In an indepth speech that generated sustained applause, the CPDM Section President for Fako IV Comrade Eteki Charles Dikonge reminded his fellow militants why they must put all hands on deck behind President Paul Biya, a national leader whom he said always listens to the aspirations of the people. He also reminded the militants of some laudable measures ordered by President Biya at a crucial cabinet meeting on March 7, 2008.
These measures, such as the review of the salaries of public servants, reduction in the prices of basic commodities, strengthening of programmes for youth employment; are "grateful measures that have been taken to improve the quality of life by alleviating poverty in the country..." Comrade Eteki said.
He called President Paul Biya a veritable statesman who is wise and foresighted. Reason why, he noted, President Biya has the total support of the militants of Fako IV as concerns the amendment of the constitution.
Other speakers like Comrade Esua Marius Fotabong (Subsection President for Bwinga West), Comrade Lepasha Celestine (the Fako IV YCPDM Section President), Comrade Sally Lyonga (the Fako IV WCPDM Section President), Comrade Francis N. Mekomba (member of the Central Committee delegation) and Comrade Enow Baiye Oscar (Central Committee Resource Person); all poured praises on President Biya for acting promptly to bring to a halt the recent violent strikes that affected some towns in the country.
In strong terms, they condemned violence and hailed measures taken to strengthen the fight against corruption, inertia and laxity. A motion of support crowned the occasion that was spiced with traditional dances.
