No fewer than 50 schools that cater for children and young adults from age Two to 18 (nurseries through to Sixth Form) are expected to exhibit their services at the Maribet Private Schools Show, scheduled to hold at the Magnolia Hall of the City Mall, Lagos from May 27 to 28. The theme is, 'Education as a Catalyst for Knowledge-Driven Economic Growth'.
Managing Consultant of Maribet Consult, organisers of the event, Mrs Kobune Ben-Uponi told newsmen in Lagos, that the show was a part of the activities lined up to celebrate the company's five years of advocating for students' success in the education sector.
The consult with its expertise has, over the years, provided friendly and objective advice, following independent research, including school visit, to Nigerian parents all over the world about their children's educational needs including schools placement in Nigeria.
It has more than 1, 000 of the country's leading private schools in its database,
It is the first exhibition this millennium to address the problems parents face when choosing a school. Day or boarding? Mixed or single sex? International Baccalaureate or A Levels? IGCSE or GCSE? These are just a few of the concerns parents may need to address, alongside which particular strengths they wish their children to develop.
"This exhibition offers parents a far better picture than a glossy brochure and gives them a variety of schools to choose without travelling all over the country. It will allow comparative judgements to be made on a single occasion and provides a real snapshot of private education today" says Kobune.
Client Service Executive, Christianah Ebinum said "Amongst other benefits it will give families the opportunity to evaluate the financial implications, including learning about the availability of scholarships and bursaries"
Mr Rotimi Okusanya, A London-trained principal consultant of Cedar Consulting, Mr Rotimi Okusanya, will be available to help children with special needs, and some other seasoned educators will prove an invaluable resource and exciting debating forum for the inquisitive parents.
A seminar for school owners focusing on the theme of the event will take the event to another level and we anticipate over 200 school proprietors to attend.

The opening day of the show, which coincides with the annual Children's Day, will provide lots of fun games to occupy the younger children while the parents have enough time in a relaxed and friendly environment to take crucial decisions about their children's education. The older children will also be engaged by a Motivational Speaker and Proprietor of Greater Scholars School, Mrs. Comfort Ukpong, who will speak on 'Better Youth Better World!'
The consult will also be launching its products- Nigeria Schools Guide and Step by Step Educator. She said the latter, a magazine, "is the industry's leading publication covering teaching, facilities, parenting, business, learning and technology concerns in preschool-secondary school in Nigeria. The combined circulation of Step by Step Educator and Nigerian Schools Guide provides an unparalleled reach into every level of decision making in schools nationwide."
As part of Maribet's corporate social responsibility; a percentage of all ticket sales will be donated to the Living Fountain Orphanage in Lagos .
