Mr. Abdoulie Kujabi, the ex-director general of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), was spotted at the Banjul Magistrates Court, on Wednesday, 19 March. Dressed in a short arm sleeve white suite with white eye glasses, he was seen talking to the state prosecutor in court, immediately after the end of one of the cases before the court. Mr. Kujabi looked thin, but appeared to be strong and seemed to be in a good mood, while discussing with the state counsel. It was not clear whether Mr. Kujabi will be another accused person in the dock or a state witness in one of the cases before the said court.
Mr. Abdoulie Kujabi, a former NIA boss, was arrested in April 2006, in connection to the March 21, 2006 coup plot. Since then he had been languishing in detention, until late last December, when he was released without prosecution. Mr. Kujabi was also a former APRC bigwig in the Fonis.
