THE DEPUTY Upper East Regional Minister, Mrs. Agnes Asangalisa Chigabatia, has called on Ghanaians to eschew hatred, backbiting, ethnocentrism and tribalism before, during, and after this year's Easter festivities.

The Deputy Regional Minister said peace, love and unity are symbols of Jesus Christ, who sacrificed himself, died and arose on the third day to save mankind. This sacrifice by Jesus Christ was a show of the love and care he had for the people of the entire world, irrespective of their racial or religious backgrounds.

Speaking to Upper East File (UEF), in her Easter message to the good people of her region and Ghanaians in general, Mrs. Chigabatia thanked God for his unceasing love for everybody in the country, and how he has abundantly blessed his people.

She said whether Christians, Moslems or Traditionalists, our ultimate master is the supreme God, whom we must all have faith in, and be committed to with sincerity.

Mrs. Chigabatia reminded Ghanaians not to stab each other in the back, because that will not bring the peace, love and unity needed for the development of the nation, but rather chaos, leading to retaliations and violence, which are all anti-development.

Also the Member of Parliament (MP) for Builsa North Constituency, the Deputy Minister, who is affectionately referred to as Mommy, by the young men and women, wished her constituents well, during the Easter celebrations, and God's blessings and guidance.

As this year's general elections draw near, she acknowledged that is God who chooses leaders, and prayed to him to give Ghanaians accommodating hearts, to accept the elections results, with his chosen people as leaders.

The MP admits that it was important for Ghanaians to belong to different political parties, as it was equally important for them to note that they can only lead and develop the country, if there is love, peace and unity among them.
