Cabinda

The attorney general of the Republic of Angola, João Maria de Sousa, leaves Wednesday to Cacongo municipality in the fulfilment of his 24-hour visit to northern Cabinda province.

In Cacongo, the top magistrate of the Prosecuting Council will visit the local attorney's office and the military penitentiary.

Speaking to press, on Tuesday, after his arrival at the provincial airport, the attorney general said that his trip to the northern region is part of a programme of visits he has been carrying out to the country's judicial institutions.

Yet on Tuesday, magistrate Joao Maria de Sousa held a meeting with the provincial governor, Aníbal Rocha, and visited the premises of the local attorney's office and the court.

He also held a meeting with the magistrates of the Judicial and Prosecuting Council and employees of the General Attorneyship of the Republic, apart from visiting the penitentiary of Yabi.

Joao Maria de Sousa is due to grant a press conference before he returns to Luanda on Wednesday.
