The Olympic Committees of Angola and Japan will sign in April a bilateral agreement aiming at establishing sports relations between the two institutions, Angop learnt Wednesday in Luanda from an official source.

According to the secretary general of Angolan Olympic Committee (COA), Mário Rosa, the protocol comes at the request of the Asian nation's Olympic governing body, that wishes to explore the diverse fields of sports between the two sides.

The source said that for this purpose, the chairperson of COA, Gustavo da Conceição, left for Japan to sign, in the first week of next month, the agreement.

He added that the signing of the protocol will open doors so that the African country benefits from know-how that Japan has in various sports, with highlight to sport fight, athletics and swimming.

"We will assess what we can explore in the accord with the Olympic Committee of Japan", said Mário Rosa.
