The provincial director of Transport, Post Offices and Telecommunication of central Bié province, Marta Luís Artur Wednesday highlighted the importance of rehabilitating the Benguela Railway (CFB) in the socio-economic development and the circulation of people in the region.

The source referred that the restructuring of the railway shall be of extreme importance for Bié, as it will improve the circulation of people and goods, and boost economic growth, through the trade exchange.

To Maria Luís Artur, the works along the Benguela-Huambo route are in good progress, and as from next month they are expected to start in order to reach Bié province.

The Railway of Benguela starts in this province and passes through the provinces of Huambo, Bié and reaches Moxico, from where it connects to the neighbouring Republic of Zambia, said Marta Luís Artur.
