The Cabinet Council Wednesday here approved the animal health law under the guidance of the Head of State, José Eduardo dos Santos.

According to the director general of the Institute of Veterinary Services, Felipe Vicesse this regulation will control the taking of measures relating to the applying of fines and transgressions in importing live animals, and other irregularities.

Felipe Vicesse reminded that there are various emerging diseases that might hinder the re-launch of the cattle-raising activity in Angola.

The meeting, which ends this Wednesday, also approved the decree that governs the attribution of rights on strategic mineral resources.

Concerning the mining sector, the Cabinet also approved the contracts of diamond prospecting in the Chamunua, Cafulu and Lumaca regions, located in the provinces of Lunda Sul, Kuando Kubango and Lunda Norte, respectively.

The director of Legal Affairs of the National Diamond Company of Angola (ENDIAMA E.P), Teresa Dias told the press that the approval of the contracts shall further contribute to the development of the company's activity.

According to the director, these are investments of USD 10 million, which will enable the mining of large kimberlites in the future.

"ENDIAMA has had good partners and large projects being implemented slowly, what has been motivating the signing of contracts for the country to prosper", he concluded.
