Anxiety continues to grip Kenyans and the international community over the delayed naming of a new Cabinet.

On Tuesday, President Kibaki and Prime Minister-designate Raila Odinga, failed to agree on the size and portfolio balance of the Cabinet.

The international community expressed concerned over the hitch in sharing of portfolios.

On Wednesday, a diplomat said they were watching the situation and hoped that the two leaders would agree.

The source, who requested anonymity, added: "The new Cabinet should be lean, efficient and capable of restoring progress."

The Council of Imams and Preachers in Kenya (CIPK) faulted PNU for the delay.

CIPK Organising Secretary, Sheikh Mohammed Khalifa, said: "PNU is insincere and should respect the power-sharing deal."
