Rwanda: RCA Names World Cup Squad

Rwanda Cricket Association, RCA has released the final squad to take part in the 2008 ICC World Cricket League/ ICC World Cup Qualifiers scheduled for April 13-18 in Johannesburg, South Africa.

RCA made five changes from the team that traveled to South Africa in 2006 for the same event.

The new faces on the 14-man team include Evode Mutuyimana (bowler), Subashish Samary (batsman) and three all-rounders Ramsy Simba, Hamza Nkuutu and Joseph Tuyishimire.

The chief selector and team manager Benjamin Manzi said that the team is a mixture of young blood and experience and that every player on the team is there on merit.

"I'm optimistic the guys will do well. They have had enough preparations and are in the right frame of mind," said Manzi before adding that the team would however be changed under odd cases like player indiscipline or injury.

Rwanda is drawn in the toughest group alongside 2006 finalists Sierra Leone, Malawi and Lesotho.
