Mainland title holders Simba SC intend to set up a camp at Shinyanga's Barrick gold mine ahead of their second round return leg match of the African champions league against Enyimba of Nigeria on April 6 at the National Stadium.

Simba SC competition committee member Hassan Othman, popular as Hasaanoo, announced the camping plans yesterday at a press conference in Dar es Salaam.

The team is yet to move to the proposed camping site, he said. Simba who lost by a hefty 4-0 at Abba last weekend intend to put up a fitting encounter at home and win the match by any margin.

A far off chance of overturning the results and advance in the continent's premier championship is still regarded as feasible by a section of local fans.

Hassanoo said Simba are taking no chances and plan to avenge the defeat inflicted on them by the Nigerian champions.

"We have all the reasons to post a home soil victory the way they did on their soil. They won on their soil," said Hassanoo.

The Simba official was optimistic that the four goals deficit can be worked out with reference to their 1979 match against Zambian side Mufulira Wanderers. Simba lost at home by 0-4 goals and then overturned to win 5-0 in Lusaka. Hassanoo said Simba would not intimidate Enyimba the way the Nigerians did when Simba paid the visit last week before conceding the heavy defeat.

"We will treat them fairly unlike the way they did to us with an objective of maintaining our sportsmanship attitude and fair play," said Hassanoo.

He went on to blast Tanzania Immigration officials for their failure of granting work permit to their players Moses Odhiambo from Kenya and Ramadhan Wasso from Burundi.

Hassanoo said Simba SC had promptly paid all permit fees to the Immigration Department but bureaucracy intervened. This was the major reason that led to failure to secure their work permits in time, he said.

He dismissed reports that Simba officials did not work seriously on the issue, noting that time was so limited to cope with the pressure of traveling and expediting the permits.
