Nigeria: Titans of Tech Expo - Visafone, Others Sign Up

Foremost global information technology (IT) training institution, NIIT, the newest and wholly owned Nigerian mobile phone company, Visafone, and leading indigenous personal computer manufacturer, Zinox Technologies, have joined the growing list of top range technology firms that have signed up for the Titans of Tech exhibition.
The Titans of Tech exhibition, touted as the market place for new technologies,according to a statement made available to THISDAY is expected to boost the appreciation and adoption of new technologies in the country. It is scheduled for April 3 and 4 at the Muson Centre in Lagos with the theme, "Emerging Technologies, Emerging markets".
NIIT is expected to storm the expo with its latest training models, courses and programmes with opportunity for discounted training for selected visitors to the firm's stand during the two day event.
The mobile company, Visafone would bring its innovative dual SIM phones and several varieties of its affordable handsets with prices from under $15 per phone. The Titans of Tech is the first expo the company, which promises to become one of the preferred telecom operators in Nigeria by offering seamless and efficient services only recently roll-out services in 12 states and over 40 cities with a bundle of 3G (EVDO) and Internet broadband connectivity services would be attending.
Zinox Technologies, first Nigerian firms to build internationally accepted computer products certified by Microsoft Corporation with Windows Hardware Quality Lab (WHQL) certification would be on hand with its top of the line, PCs, laptops, UPSes and other office and systems.
Don Pedro Aganbi, Managing Consultant, Technology Africa, organisers of the event, stated that the Titans of Tech expo will provide a platform for leading technology firms, vendors and service providers to showcase the latest technological innovations in products development. Exhibitors are drawn from all sectors of the nation's economy.
Aganbi noted that among companies that have booked spots for the April gathering include, leading telecommunications services solutions provider, Bells and Bells, principal solutions providers for the nation's capital market, Programos Software.
Others are indigenous IT training firm, HiiT; top security and microfinance applications solutions developers, Perfect Touch Consulting, global document management company, Xerox and Datapeg. Teledom, total ICT solutions provider, Weco Systems, Wadof software, SystemSpecs, developers of the popular HumanManager, and PPC, leading systems Integration Company are also on the bill.
Datapeg, he revealed, has concluded plans to launch its new product at the event with several others.
The event would also feature a two days lecture, with the first day used for the theme lecture and the second dedicated to the Women in ICT forum, a lecture cum workshop that seeks to promote gender equity in the design, development, implementation, and use of information and communication technologies in the country.

Two leading African lights in the information communications technology (ICT), Professor Clement Dzidonu, President, Accra Institute of Technology (AIT) -- The University of the Future Accra and Fola Odufuwa, Director, Nova Global Markets Group, LLC, a subsidiary of Nova Capital Partners, a leading Emerging Markets investment bank and trusted advisor to privately-held and publicly-traded middle market companies have confirmed participation for the Titans of Tech annual lecture.
Prof. Dzidonu is expected to deliver the keynote address on the theme, "Emerging Technologies, Emerging Markets" while Odufuwa who would speak on the Nigerian perspective.
In addition, Mrs. Ibukun Odusote, Head, Information Technology, Federal Ministry of Information and Communications and Mrs. Florence Seriki, Managing director, Omatek Computers, leading indigenous manufacturer of computer systems have confirmed participation in the first ever national Women in ICT forum.
