South Africa: Lowe Bull Proves Its Creative Mettle

Cape Town — Proving that it has the right creative stuff, the Lowe Bull group has walked off with two of the top accolades in the annual Creative Circle Ad of the Year awards, and one of the hotly contested second spots, making it one of the top two performing agencies of the evening.

Lowe Bull Johannesburg took pole position in the radio category for Axe "Answering machine/Announcements/Fart/Gnome", while Lowe Bull Cape Town won the newspaper category for Cape Times "JFK/Hiroshima/Soweto".

The agency also scored second spot in the hotly contested film category, for Axe "Goldfish/Magician/Bokdrol". These wins place the Lowe Bull group tie with one other agency - Fox P2 - as the most awarded agency at the annual awards. Interestingly, the winning Fox P2 duo - Andrew Whitehouse and Justin Gomes - are an ex-Lowe Bull creative team. And, if you add to the pot the fact that another ex-Lowe Buller Rob Mclennan was instrumental in creating the winning television spot, then that places Lowe Bull at the top of the creative pile!

Chairman Matthew Bull comments that, in his opinion, the Ad of the Year is the toughest of all the local creative awards to win outside of the Loerie Grand Prix because it pits the best against the best.

"That winning creative gene really runs deep in Lowe Bullers, to do so well once again is beautiful. Lekker man!" he says.
