The Minister of Social Affairs, Catharine Bakang Mbock, called on all the sons and daughters of Nyong and Kellé South to reaffirm their support to the Head of State.
The CPDM party hall in Eseka town, head quarters of the Nyong and Kelle Division, was the venue of commemorative activities to mark the 23rd anniversary of the CPDM party. Banners at the main entrance of the hall and in some and strategic parts of the town and in the hall spoke for themselves. As early as 9:00 a.m. militants trooped to the venue to secure comfortable seats in order nt to s any part of the event.
The event was chaired by the Minister of Social Affairs, Catherine Bakang Mbock, head of Delegation of the Central Committee in the CPDM Section for Nyong and Kelle South. The event was marked by speeches and animation by youths of the area. Militants of other political parties in Eseka and its environs also joined the CPDM militants in celebrating. Speaking during the occasion, Minister Catherine Bakang Mbock said since the creation of the CPDM in Bamenda 24 years ago, the party is the only political party that has permitted national unity, development and stability in the country. The minister congratulated the population of the Nyong et Kellé in general and Nyong and Kellé south in particular for their responsible behaviour during the recent strike action in the country. "By saying no to violence and disorder, we have confirmed our yes to peace, dialogue and democracy," she said. According to the Minister Bakang Mbock, the measures taken by the Head of State to revalorise salaries, reducing cost ofbasic goos, and addressing unemployment of uths are proof that the Head of State listens attentively to the problems of his compatriots.
Concerning the revision of the 1996 constitution, the Minister said the President of the Republic Paul Biya is out to modify the constitution in order to ensure a prosperous and stable country. She used the occasion to call on all the sons and daughters of Nyong et Kellé South and the other compatriots of the Division to reaffirm their support made in November 2007 to Head of State in the grand initiative of modify of the constitution. Prizes were awarded to some militants who distinguished themselves in activities of the party for the past year. The day's activities were crowned with a walk for peace in Eseka town.
