Mr. Robert Semple Robbie, an Irish has begun an eight-week internship with The NEWS Newspaper.

Robbie's presence follows barely three months after the departure of Rob Quin, another Irish who served internship at the paper.

Robbie holds a Bachelors of Arts Degree (BBA) in Economics and Psychology and will begin a Masters program in Psychology at the London School of Economics next year.

Prior to his internship at The NEW, Robbie worked with several magazines in Ireland as a reporter and as World News Editor at the Trinity NEWS of the Trinity College in Dublin, Republic of Ireland.

Robbie said he has developed interest in West Africa for a long time and has since waited for the opportunity to practice in the region especially in post-conflict Liberia.

He said his friend Rob Quin who did his internship recently with The NEWS encouraged him to pursue his internship at the paper.

While at The NEWS, Robbie will be drilled in the rudiments of journalism and afforded the opportunity to cover events at several places including the Executive Mansion, National Legislature, Judiciary and other government ministries and agencies, as well as non-governmental sector.
