Nigeria Football Association member, Peter Singabele has commended Nigeria's Under-23 team and the Falcons for picking Beijing 2008 Olympic tickets to represent Africa at the summer Games.

The Samson Siasia tutored Olympic Eagles were Beijing-bound Wednesday, after they beat South Africa's Amagluglu in the final tie of the African qualifiers. The Falcons had earlier on defeated Ghana to make the Beijing list of female soccer nations for the third consecutive time.

"It is a good sign that football is still thriving here in Nigeria and I must congratulate both teams for their gallantry.

"I want them to work harder and make good their qualification by winning the gold medal at the Games," Singabele said yesterday.

He added that Coach Siasia has proved that he is capable of doing well at the national team with his professional approach to the game. Singabele urged Siasia to strive for perfection in his handling of the team.

Before the Under-23 and the Falcons picked their respective tickets, Ghana's male and female teams were in the driving seat of qualification.
