President Mugabe dissolved his Cabinet yesterday and said not everyone who was in that Cabinet would be retained as some had not performed to expectations.

He said the new Cabinet would be drawn from MPs elected to Parliament. "Hurumende yedu, ndanga ndichivaudza nhasi, kuti pedu papera nhasi uno. Tatoita meeting ka kuseni kuno, kuti tizvidissolve, sezvo tavakuenda kuelection. Maelection anotipa nhengo dzemaMP. MumaMP imomo ndimo matichazosarudza vatichazoti ava vangave maministers

"Ndavaudzawo kuti sezvo tichitarisa nyika yese, vamwe vachadzoka, vamwe vachasara. The good performers will return, the poor performers will drop. Zvakaoma izvi, ko ndozvazviri," he said at a rally in Bindura. Cde Mugabe decried the tendency by some ministries, particularly those responsible for roads, to leave things unfinished for years on end, saying that was a weakness on the part of Government that should not be condoned.

"Ko inga kana rungano rwanatsuro rwekunyengedza sekuru runosvika parunonzi ndopakaperera sarungano? Zvino rwedu urwu harupere. It's a weakness on our part, kana ini ndinozvishorawo ipapo. Ndinoziva zvangu kuti zvichemo zvinenge zviripo, mari yatinenge tinayo inoparadzirwa. Asika zvinenge zvichida minister kuti asimbirire, kuti tibva taita 15 years, 30 years neroad isingaperi?"

The new Cabinet to be set up after the elections, he said, would not tolerate such oversight.
