Olga Rungano, one of Mambokadzi's founder members, has died. She died on Sunday at her parents' home in Rugare, Harare. She had been unwell for some time.

Mambokadzi founder-owner Enisia Mushusha said they had learnt with shock the death of Olga. "We are still in a state of shock following the untimely death of Olga. Although she left the group, she was like a sister to us. "We were one big family and her death has left a void to be filled. It is indeed a great loss in the arts industry," said Mushusha.

Olga burst into the music industry in the late 90s with the now defunct Hohodza Hot Band under the leadership of Portia Gwanzura. She briefly left the group and joined Music Crossroads winners, Gwindingwi Rine Shumba before joining Kireni Zulu. She left Kireni and joined Progress Chipfumo her former band mate.

In 2005, Olga left Chipfumo and was part of the founder members of Mambokadzi until early 2007 when she left for South Africa in search of greener pastures. She was buried on Tuesday at the Granville Cemetery in Harare.
