Do you think you have what it takes to be an idol, then fine-tune your voice and performance, because the time you have been waiting for has arrived.
The long awaited M-Net's star making reality hit IDOLS auditions are scheduled to take place tomorrow (March 28).
The one-day make-or-break auditions will be held at Gaborone's Grand Palm Hotel, and registration starts at 08:00, but if you really believe that this is your chance to make your dreams come true, and showcase your talent before the show's preliminary judges, make sure you arrive early, as only the first 1,500 to arrive at the venue are guaranteed an audition. Only those selected by the preliminary judges will be asked to return to the Grand Palm Hotel to meet the show's TV judges, who will decide whether their singing talent can carry you them to the show's Top 100. Entrants are requested to bring proof of identity with them. As previously mentioned, entrants can sing from a wide range of music, including Traditional, Western, English, African, Pop, African, Reggae, R & B, and Rock. Entrants who will be lucky enough to make it to the Theatre, Group, or Top 10 phases, must be able to sing pop, African, and Western music, including English language songs.
The auditions are open to anyone between the ages of 18 and 27, who is a citizen of Botswana, Burundi, Comoros, Djibouti, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Kenya, Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Reunion, Rwanda, the Seychelles, Somalia, Swaziland, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.
The winner of IDOLS stands to walk away with a whopping USD 80, 000 (roughly P528, 000) cash prize, and a once-in-a-lifetime recording contract through the famed Sony BMG. These auditions, which will be for only one day, are the first steps to IDOLS' fame.
