After Wednesday's aborted friendly international match against Mozambique because of a heavy downpour in Dar es Salaam, Taifa Stars fly to Nairobi today to face Harambee Stars tomorrow.

The match is among many in the newly-introduced African Nations Cup championship for domestic-based players. It will be held at Nyayo Stadium.

According to the team's head coach, Brazilian Marcio Maximo, the squad comprises the following: Goalkeepers: Farouk Ramadhan (Miembeni), Shaaban Dihile (JKT Ruvu).

Defenders: Amir Maftah, Nadir "Canavaro" Haroub, Fred Mbuna (Young Africans), Kelvin Yondani, (Simba), Stephano Mwasika (Tanzania Prisons) and George Assey of JKT Ruvu.

Midfielders: Athuman Idd, Abdi Kassim (Young Africans), Henry Joseph, Ulimboka Mkwakingwe (Simba), Godfrey Boniface (Tanzania Prisons), Shaaban Nditi (Mtibwa) and Uhuru Suleiman (Coastal Union).

Strikers: Jerry Tegete, Mrisho Ngassa (Young Africans) and Emmanuel Gabriel (Simba SC).

Those dropped out of the team are Salum Juma, Sabri Ramadhani (Miembeni), Yona Ndabila (Tanzania Prisons) and Adam Kingwande (Ashanti United).

Officials accompanying the team are Maximo and his assistants Itamar Amorim, Marcos Tinoco and Ali Bushiri while Juma Sufiani is team's physician.

Also in the squad are kit manager Alfred Chimela, team manager Leopold Tasso Mkebezi, Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) information officer Florian Kaijage and Imani Madega, the delegation leader.

Maximo said his players were in good shape and anxious to beat their hosts in the first leg match. The last time Kenya played against Tanzania Mainland was during last year's Council of East and Central African Football Association (CECAFA) championship held in Dar es Salaam.

Harambee Stars lost 1-2 goals in the match that the Mainland team did not include Zanzibar players.

Stars have never played any friendly match since the beginning of this year. Therefore they have a formidable task to beat their hosts in the first competitive match.
