In order to improve the Abuja environment and give it the beautiful scenery and aesthetic look it desires, the FCT Administration has evacuated 185 abandoned vehicles to the Abuja Auto-Pound.

FCT minister, Dr. Aliyu Modibbo Umar, made this disclosure on Tuesday at the bi-monthly FCT operational departments briefing in his office.

The minister said that majority of these abandoned vehicles are now home to carcasses in some illegal mechanic workshops and some others left on the major highways in the Federal Capital City for a very long time.

Umar remarked that the operation would be a continuous one until the city was rid of all vehicles that have become an eyesore or unfortunate land mark .

The minister advised all motor mechanics operating in the city to immediately relocate to the areas earmarked for such activities, adding that there are regulations which must be followed and respected because this is not a lawless society.

Umar also advised property owners in the city to desist from allowing mechanics use their property for motor mechanic purposes or face the wrath of the law.
