Board of Trustees (BOT) meeting of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has mandated the party's National Working Committee (NWC) to organise fresh congresses in states where there were parallel congresses leading to the March 8, national convention.
The BOT meeting, which was the first after the national convention and presided over by former President Olusegun Obasanjo, listed the states where parallel congresses held to include, Kano, Zamfara, Enugu, Edo and Imo.
Parallel congresses in these states led to the emergence of parallel state executives.
Sources at the meeting which held at the Aso Rock Villa instead of the Transcorp Hilton earlier stated, stressed the need for peace to reign in the party.
National chairman of the party, Prince Vincent Ogbulafor was mandated to ensure that the NWC restores order and peace in the party generally and in the affected states in particular.
In Enugu State, two factions, emerged. Factions loyal to Governor Sullivan Chime and former governor Chimaroke Nnamani forming separate delegates to the convention.
In Edo, former BOT chairman, Chief Tony Anenih and Governor Oserhemien Osunbor headed different congresses.

In Imo State, the congresses could not hold owing to court injunction on party leaders.
Instructively, the immediate past National Working Committee (NWC) chairman, Dr. Ahmadu Ali failed to resolve the impasse.
At Wednesday night's BOT meeting, Dr. Ali and his spouse, Mariam, were absent.
