The new Information Minster Fatim Badjie, is not qualified for that job. She was appointed Minister based on tribal line. Besides, tribal politics, reports also have it that Fatim is Jammeh's secret girl friend. Jammeh is that type of a leader, who uses his office to abuse our young ones. He's more of a prostitue, than a President. We are for real. After abusing the erstwhile Minister Neneh Mawdowl Gaye, now it's Fatim Badjie's turn. Jammeh cleverly played his cards right, by sending Neneh to the UN. He does not want Neneh to see him with Fatim Badjie. That's the hard fact. Neneh has been exiled in a civilized manner. Jammeh's relationship with Fatim Badjie is not a secret in Banjul. Everyone is talking about it. Jammeh's apatite for women is becoming a cause for concern. We should tame this mad person, we call a President. Jammeh should learn to treat our women with respect.

Fatim Badjie is less than 25 year old. She just finishes her College Education in Tennessee, here in the United States. She is the daughter of Ambassador Dembo Badjie, a former Permanent Secretary. Some of her College mates, must be amazed to learn that she had been elevated to the position of Minister. Not that she was stupid in school, but our concerns are centered on her managerial deficiencies. She is not a Minister material at all. We careless how she reacts to this editorial.

Yes, Fatim might supposedly bagged degrees in Communication, but does she posses any working experience to earn her that job? How long have Fatim been in management? Don't tell me she got the experience from Corporate America? Not GAMCEL anyway?

The dangers of appointing inexperienced people is costly. Fatim is yet to spend two good weeks at the Information Ministry. And look at what she she is doing... She is busy dipping her fingers into GAMTEL'S ailing coffers. She presented a substantial amount of money to the President's newly HIV/Aids treatment program. D650,000 is not a small amount of money. Fatim is doing this to please his new found boy friend Yahya Jammeh. She is also trying to tell the new owners of GAMTEL that in order for them to operate here, they need the backing of the President.

Fatim Badjie should not have accepted the Ministerial position in the first place. She is too young for the job. She needs to spend sometime in the Civil Service, before she can be competent enough to run such positions. Ministerial job requires maturity and leadership qualities.

She needs to get in touch with her Dad Dembo and findout how promotions are done in the Civil Service. Dembo went through the right channel. He is one of those oldguards, we are proud of.

It's sad that Yahya Jammeh is abusing his daughter. This is unacceptable. Shame on Jammeh. Fatim Badjie should reconsider her decision to accept the said job. She is too young to mess up her future because of position.

We are in support of empowering our youths, but such empowerment should be based on truth, fair play and justice. You don't bring any dummy or novice and call he or she a Minister. Appoint the right people. Period!!

Fatim got the job not because of her competence, hard-work or loyalty to the APRC, but because of her secret relationship with the President. Neneh Mawdowl Gaye has been talking openly about Jammeh's "jangfa" or betrayal schemes against her. Her family is also talking. This country is too small. We are interrelated. Jammeh is making unnecessary enemies for himself.

Few years ago, the same Yahya Jammeh ventured into marrying Fatim Badjie, but later changes his mind. The same Yahya Jammeh asked Fatim to return home after her college education. He appointed her Manager of GAMCEL, a post she held until, her recent elevation to Ministerial post.

Gambian women should be wary of Yahya Jammeh. He only cares about his own interest. Jammeh is a serial adulterer. He is a potential HIV career, in view of his risky behaviors. Our women should be cautious in their dealings with Jammeh. He's a player big time.

For Fatim Badjie, we say watch your back. Lady Zeinab will sooner or later learn through the hard way. Jammeh can fool you, but he cannot fool us Gambians. We know the deal between you and Jammeh. It's all centered on love affair. Prove us wrong if you thing that what's reported here is false. Our sources are very credible. Remember that Jammeh had angered some families in Banjul. Jammeh had also angered some recently redeployed Ministers.

Jammeh is a hypocrite and a liar. From the word go, we knew that Sussan was coming back. All these sackings and redeployments are all fake. The man is just confused. Period!!

Yahya Jammeh is also trying to sleep with Ndey Njie. The same Ndey Njie was hired to take care of the catering arraignments during the AU Summit. Jammeh wants to taste every woman in his cabinet. He should leave our women alone!!!

The President should not take advantage of his position, because he is the President. No, that is not right Mr. President. These women deserve to be respected. Stop abusing them in the name of giving them jobs. Nothing is stopping you from marrying them. Be God fearing and stop the "Jeno, Njawlo." or adultery.

No wonder, that's why Jammeh's secrets are in the open these days. The women he dates hardly keep secrets. They turn around to talk about their relationship with the President.

The difference between Jammeh and Edi Amen is that, the latter never hides his relationship with his workers. Edi would called his Ministers and said " I am sleeping with your wife." But in the case of Jammeh, he operates clandestinely.

Finally, Fatim Badjie should consider relinquishing her portfolio. She is free to date the President, but should allow competent technocrats to lead that Department. She is not better than Neneh.

Lets be realistic Fatim Badjie is an intelligent young girl. She will never get involve with Jammeh. I know that she doesnt have all the experience needed to hold a ministerial position particularly considering her age. However, Gambians should be please for her courage and desire to serve her beloved country, and leave the temptation of living in America like many Gambians do. We all need to be more supportive rather than associating her with Jammeh, with minimal evidence to the story.Acting like paparazzi, and tabloid news papers will not help The gambia to go forward. Our support to... [Read Full Text]

My name is Yusupha dumbuya a Gambian based in United states. I am an independent, and my assessment of our country situation reflect my independent views. First I challenge my fellow Gambians to tailor their comments toward issues that affects our country and find solutions to those issues. Gambian politics should pass the stage of mere opposition but rather to address the real issues affecting Gambians. Democracy have spoken and we should allow it to run it course. If the Gambians decides they don't want president Jameh, they should communicate it only through election. Gambia is not a perfect country... [Read Full Text]

It's sad to read your article on the web about President Yahya Jammeh and his appointment of Miss Badjie as minister of information. Because it's a one sided story with no justification at all, I'll only comment on your language instead of the contents. Your tone is harsh and obviously rude. AS an African, talking about a stateman, an elderly person, that is NOT the tone and language you should use. You might have been saying the truth but it's distorted by your tone and choice of language. Two wrongs can never make a right and anger will never... [Read Full Text]

I was really terrified when I read this article, which is just mean and totally subjective. But fortunately the comments moderated the journalist's view. As I know Fatim Badjie, I can tell it is totally false to think there could be a relationship between Fatim Badjie and the President. She is a very passionate, and intelligent woman. The African countries have always had old ministers with a long experience, national or international, why can't we give their chance to the younger generation, who is may be more passionate and loyal than the older. Before judging, may be we should let... [Read Full Text]
