Gambia: Ex - NIA DG Pa Jallow Dies

The erstwhile NIA Director and Gambia's ambassador to Nigeria Pa Jallow passed away this morning. Mr. Jallow who have been suffering from an ailing health condition was briefly hospitalized in Nigeria, before his untimely demise. Details for the exact cause of his death are sketchy.

Family sources said Mr. Jallow was flown to Nigeria for treatment, where was hospitalized for one week, discharged and later readmitted. He could not make it. He died Thursday morning.

Mr. Jallow was known to be a seasoned intelligence officer. He was said to have resigned from the NIA on medical grounds. His remains are expected to be laid to rest today. He is survived with a wife and a family.
