Nigeria: Jonathan Left us With N75bn Deficit -Bayelsa Govt

Yenagoa — Bayelsa state government has disclosed that it inherited a budget deficit of N75billion from the administration of Vice-President Goodluck Jonathan.

Commissioner for Finance and Budget, Dr Sylva Opuala-Charles disclosed this while fielding questions from newsmen over the report that the government took a loan of N60 billion from five banks without the authorisation of the state House of Assembly. Opuala-Charles said that contrary to speculation, both the 2007 and 2008 appropriation bills were deficit budget.
