A military officer attached to the second battalion in Daru has been arrested and detained at the Criminal Investigation Department in Kenema for an alleged robbery with aggravation.

Police source disclosed that 18172964 Swarray Ambrose on Monday night robbed one Sahr Sam who was on transit from Liberia to Freetown.

When contacted Sam said he was returning from Liberia at around 4am when the officer attacked and robbed him of his money and personal effects.

"He told me that there was a vehicle heading for Kenema. While we were going he attacked me and took away my phone, removed my shoes and 150 Pound Sterling from my pocket and instructed me to run away," he said.

Sam apparently refused to runaway and followed him everywhere he went to.

A resident of Kenema Mohamed Kamara said there are still some military men in the force who should be sacked because they are in the habit of threatening peaceful citizens.
