Liberia: Amputee Nations Cup Begins Sunday

Liberia will be among countries that are gearing up for the start of the 2008 African Cup of Nations for Amputee football.

With a total of five nations including Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Ghana and Angola taking part, the festival will begin as scheduled for Sunday, March 30, 2008 at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium (ATS) in Monrovia.

In the first match of the tournament, the host Liberia will take on Sierra Leone.

Thereafter, Ghana will go against Nigeria in the second match on Sunday.

On Monday, March 31, 2008, Angola will meet Sierra Leone in game one, while Liberia and Nigeria will end the day's actions.

Two years ago, the first African Cup of Nations for Amputees was held in Sierra Leone. The host went on to lift the trophy, while Liberia finished second.
