Ahead of the next cabinet retreat in Grand Cape Mount County, a scrap company operating in the county, Orbital Inc. has intensified its road rehabilitation project linking Tiene to the Congo Manor River Concession area.
The 55 kilometers road project, according to the Operation Manager of Orbital Amadu Kamissoko, is put at several thousands US dollars. Citizens of the county, particularly from Porkpa District, where the focus of the project is based currently have welcomed the initiative by the company and assured them of their cooperation.
A town Chief of the District Mustapha Sheriff told newsmen at the on going road rehabilitation project has created an easy access for commercial and private vehicle ply that rout.
He however called on the Orbital Company to also ensure the rehabilitation of the two major bridge in the district including the Kaylai River bridge before raining season.
Also speaking the head of the local NGO implementing projects for Cape Mountains in the Americas, Abas Kamara called on the county's authorities to stop playing politics with the development of the county. He wants authorities of the county to rally around the company and other companies in the county to ensure what he called "rapid development of the county".
Mr. Kamara has however disclosed plans by the US-based group through his organization, Cape Development Foundation, to recondition the two major bridges in the district in collaboration with Orbital and other scrap companies operating in the county.
It can be recalled that the Junior Senator of the James Momo recently criticized the Orbital Company for do nothing towards the development but citizens of the county said the senator's statement was far beyond the truth.
The ongoing road rehabilitation project though not part of the agreement with government, the Operation Manager of Orbital Mr. Kamissoko is the company's own way of ensuring that the citizens have access to every part of their districts and towns in the county.

He said the move is also to buttress government's effort in its development initiatives in the country. The Orbital Company was award the bid to carry out scarping activities in the county including assets of the former Liberia Mining Company and national Iron Ore Company along the Congo Manor River area.
