Benguela — At least 114 youths from several localities of the central Benguela province have been attending, since last February, professional courses foreseeing their integration into the employment market.
According to the official in charge of pavilion of the professional training centre in Kawango locality, outskirts of Benguela city, Domingos Pereira Calete, the youths are being trained in the specialities of computing, electricity, blacksmithing and mechanics.
The six-month courses serve to equip the youths, mainly those with lower schooling level, to obtain their first job.
The training centre, belonging to the National Institute of Employment and Professional Training (INEFOP), was inaugurated on19 January 2008.
Domingos Pereira Calete praised the government's initiative and underlined that the project of technical professional training was established to solve some of the main problems faced by youths.
