Harare — The President of Zimbabwe, Robert Gabriel Mugabe Thursday announced in Chitungwiza district, Harare, the dissolution of his government, two days prior to Saturday's general elections.
The announcement was made during a rally that marked the end of his party's electoral campaign.
Mugabe said that some ministers of the dissolved government will no longer by part of the government after the elections.
He expressed his disappointment with ministers from sectors such as of Roads and Public Work, stating that they do not conclude works for an uncertain period, something that the "new government will not tolerate".
According to the President, the new government to be named after this weekend's elections will mainly include individuals from the current Parliament.
Elections in Zimbabwe are scheduled for March 29 (Saturday), and 12 political parties are running in the polls, and four presidential candidates will try to obtain the majority of the votes from about six million voters.
