Angola: Survivors of Criminal Department's Collapse Rescued

The survivors of the facilities of the National Criminal Investigation Department (DNIC)'s collapse started this Saturday at 04:30am being rescued this Saturday the fire-fighters.

The DNIC is localised at Senado da Câmara Street, at Rangel district, in Luanda.

Speaking to the press at the site, the general commander of the National Police (PN), general commissioner Ambrósio de Lemos stressed that the causes of this disaster are not yet known, stating that fire-fighters are rescuing the survivors, and taking them to hospitals close to DNIC to receive the first aid assistance.

According to the top police officer, there was no "external" factor that caused the collapse of the building.

The official advanced that the wounded prisoners are also being taking to the prison hospital of São Paulo district.
