Geneva — Angola appealed to the United Nations a speacial attention to regions of the world with systematic violations of Human Rights and fundamental freedoms, avoiding to turn the issue political.
The appeal was made during the 7th session of the Human Rights Council, opened last March 03 and closed Friday at the UN facilities in Geneva, in which Angola attended by a delegation led by the minister of Justice, Manuel da Costa Aragão.
During the session, in which the minister attended the three first days of the discussions, the Angolan delegation highlighted the efforts being inserted in the country, concerning Human Rights, mainly in the reform underway in this field.
The top-level meeting gathered the main political leaders who analysed pressing issues, since in certain regions of the World instability has been contributing to the worsening of the situation.
The session analysed, among other issues, aspects relating to the promotion and protection of Human, Civil, Political, Social and Cultural Rights, religious and belief freedom.
The Angolan delegation, which attended the seventh session of the Human Rights Council, comprises the UN permanent representative to Geneva, Arcanjo do Nascimento, and senior officials of the Foreign Affairs Ministry.
