Cholera Cases Recorded
Lubango

Over 100 At least 116 cases of cholera were recorded in the first quarter of 2008 at Chibia locality, south Huila province, 45 kilometres from Lubango city, without claiming lives.

This was disclosed to ANGOP, in Lubango, by the head of the local health division, Sebastião António, who mentioned that 113 patients were discharged after having been completely been recovered, whereas three are still hospitalised.

Sebastião António referred that 50% of the cases were registered in Jau commune, and the others in the localities of Kihita, Capunda Cavilongo and in the district headquarters.

According to the health official, at the moment the situation is stable, despite the number of cases registered, since no deaths have been reported.
