Angola: Culture Minister Praises Future Agostinho Neto Cultural Centre

The new Agostinho Neto cultural centre being built in Catete village, will be a space at the dimension of the great poet, considered on Friday the Angolan minister of Culture, Boaventura Cardoso.
Speaking to the press after visiting the ongoing works meant to learn about its implementation rate, he expressed satisfaction with what he observed on the spot.
The centre is an undertaking conceived in two phases. The first one has been concluded, whereas the second is expected to be concluded next July.
The first phase comprises leisure spaces, playing fields, kiosks and an administrative area with various offices, artificial lakes, car parks, landscapes, among others.
A three-floored building, covering an area of 2,000 square metres, a museum, library, and an auditorium for 250 people, restaurants and exhibition halls are also part of the undertaking's second phase.
The minister recommended to the contractor some slight alterations in the areas of the library and of exhibition halls for the creation of administrative.
He informed that the building is of a modern architecture and considered it as an added value for cadres of the culture sector, in particular, and of experts, in general.
The official informed that the institution shall be managed by the government of northern Bengo province and by the local administration.
In Bengo, Minister Boaventura Cardoso visited Calomboloca district, where he got acquainted with a project for the construction of a monument at the site where Portuguese colonialists hanged and buried Angolan nationalists.

Boaventura Cardoso was accompanied to this region, by the deputy minister of Public Works, Armindo Kopingo, vice governor of Bengo for organisation and community services, Farel Van-Dunem, senior staff of the Culture Ministry and of the administration of Catete.
