Cameroon: CPDM Meme I is Most Troublesome in the Country - Nfon Mukete

The CPDM Central Committee Delegate for Meme I, Nfon V E Mukete, has classified the Section as the most troublesome in the country.

Mukete was addressing some 200 militants at the party secretariat during the 23rd anniversary of the CPDM party in Kumba on March 24.He said the Section is comprised of gossips and detractors who continue to disrupt its functioning.

The Central Committee member disclosed that it was for this reason that Meme I is the only Section that was not reorganised during the last primaries. He frowned that party militants blame President Paul Biya for not appointing a minister from Kumba, whereas they are the cause. He said Kumba has been associated with a negative stigma and pleaded with the militants to wipe it out.

The Post learnt Nfon Mukete was bitter with some CPDM Meme I militants who decamped to join another CPDM faction in Kumba. The said faction militants organised secret meetings and even planned another anniversary celebration on March 24 at the Kumba grandstand.

In a letter addressed to the Divisional Officer, DO, for Kumba Central, David Kouam, Nfon Mukete urged him to stop the dissident group from disrupting the anniversary celebration, thereby sowing seeds of disorder within the Section.

Addressing the press on the issue, Prince Ekale Mukete, the Section President said his leadership of the party in Kumba has been a storm in a teacup. He, however, differed with the Nfon that Meme I is the most troublesome, because, according to him, other Sections also have problems.

Ekale dismissed claims that his Section has split into camps, insisting that there is a procedure for that, accepted by the Central Committee. "Only one Meme I CPDM exists and those trying to disrupt the party shall soon face the nail," he stated.

According to him, a handful of militants organised meetings without his knowledge and when he questioned their actions they decided to fight him.Ekale described the act as indiscipline and insisted that only the National Chairman of the party and Section Presidents have the right to convene CPDM meetings.
