As World Resurrection Church Observes 10th Anniversary
Bishop Isaac Winker of the Dominion Christian Fellowship has called on Christians to always put God first in whatever they do.
Speaking yesterday at a program marking the climax of the 10th anniversary convention of the World Resurrection Ministries on Gurley Street, Bishop Winker urged his fellow Christians to always ensure that God must be in His rightful place in their lives in whatever they do.
Taking his text from Psalm 16, the Pentecostal Bishop reminded the worshipers that they should not only wait until there is a problem beforelooking up to God, but that they should always rely on Him in all situations because without Him, they will not succeed.
Bishop Winker observed that many persons were facing problems because of what he called "corruption" upon their lives. This corruption, he said, is not what is referred to as taking away of money, but this corruption is all about "spiritual pollution."
He said to overcome this, Christians and believers need to always call on the Lord to see them. He went on, "when God moves corruption upon your life, he wants you to be appreciated. No matter what kind of sin you have committed, today is your day of salvation," he told the jam-packed church. The Bishop told worshipers whose lives have been faced with many difficulties that, all was then over, adding that by attending yesterday's service; they would see a change in their lives. "There will be a change of status," he told them.
Bishop winker who also used John 11 about the story of Lazarus , told his fellow believers that, like Jesus did to Lazarus by bringing him back to life, "whatever is dead in your bodies, will come to have life, and that whatever is motionless, will have motion."
Prior to his preaching, Bishop Winker launched an air condition project for the church. He challenged the church to ensure that, that comes to fruition when he visits the church in three months. He thanked the church for improvements made thus far.
Earlier, the head and founder of the church, Bishop Francis Thomas said that during the past 10 years, the church converted many persons, especially wayward youths into the Christian faith.
He said the church has been instrumental in transforming others who were drug addicts and armed robbers. He paid tribute to the many persons and institutions, including the INQUIRER newspaper which he said worked along with the church during its embryonic stage.
He gave special recognition to the Inquirer's Managing Editor, Philip N. Wesseh, who was in attendance yesterday for his personal support and encouragement to the work of the church.
Giving remarks, Mr. Wesseh praised the church for its role in transforming many wayward persons into better life. He then pledged his support to the work of the church.
