Angola: President Dos Santos Encourages for Continuance of Victims Rescuing Missions

The Head of State, José Eduardo dos Santos Sunday here encouraged the technicians and personnel involved in the removal of debris of the collapsed building of the National Criminal Investigation Department (DNIC) to continue with the activities to rescue people alive.
This information was granted by the minister of Home Affairs, Roberto Leal Monteiro "Ngongo", who is also the co-ordinator of the services, whilst speaking to the press at the end of the Head of State's visit to the site.
The minister referred that President Dos Santos left very clear instructions such as how the work should be carried out.
According to the official, they mainly aimed at finding the 10 female prisoners alive and six men, who are in separate cells.
During his visit, the Angolan Statesman received explanations on the works being implemented at the site, from the minister of Home Affairs, Roberto Leal Monteiro "Ngongo", from the co-ordinator of the Civil Protection Services, Eugénio Laborinho, of the director of DNIC, Eduardo Cerqueira, and from other individualities who were at the site.
A communiqué of the Home Affairs Ministry divulged on Saturday evening, 181 people, including 36 workers, were at the DNIC facilities when the building started collapsing at dawn of the same day.

According to the document, from the 181 people who were at the building, 145 were prisoners, being 135 men and 10 women.
