Liberia: Nigerian Contingent Command Change Hands

Monrovia

The Command baton of Sector 1/Nigerian Contingent (NIGCON) of UNMIL will change hands today between the outgoing and incoming commanders at the Headquarters of Sector 1, JSP Airfield, in Monrovia.

The outgoing Commander Brig./Gen OL Abidoye will handover command responsibility to his successor Brig./Gen OE Olofinmuagun.

Gen./Abidoye leaves the mission area for Nigeria having successfully completed his tour of duty with UNMIL.

According to a release, UNMIL Force Commander Lt./Gen. CI Obiakor will decorate the outgoing Sector Commander with the rank of Major General in the Nigerian Army.

The events is expected to be graced by senior military and civilian officers of UNMIL and officials of the Liberian government.
