Monrovia

Musicians Union of Liberia (MULIB) says it welcomes the initiative of Cellcom to bring megastar Akon to Liberia.

The union says this would afford Liberian Artists the opportunity not only to interact with their counterpart from the United States, but also to explore possible area of assistance and collaboration.

In a release issued yesterday, the musician union said it is working in collaboration with Cellcom to ensure the success of the show.

The union said it intends to make Akon an honorary member of the organization, and is therefore appealing to Cellcom and other business entities to promote more artists both at home and abroad.

Meanwhile, the Musicians Union of Liberia is calling upon organizers of a planned concert on the same date at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium to reschedule said event in the interest of peace and national unity.
