Angola: General Attorney's Office Regrets Dnic Tragedy Victims

The department of General Attorney's Office (PGR) Monday here expressed consternation for the victims of the collapsed National Criminal Investigation Department (DNIC) seven-storey headquarters on Saturday in Luanda.
According to a press release, the General Attorney's Office expresses its solidarity toward the families of the victims and addresses the heart felt feelings.
"The Department of the General Attorney's Office also expresses solidarity with organs of DNIC and of the Prosecuting Council closed to that institution of the National Police, expressing its availability to contribute and participate in the recovery of any documents that went astray or missing ", emphasised the note.
The PGR highlights, on the other hand, the efforts developed by the State-owned institutions, non governmental organisations (NGOs) and singular person, together engaged in the rescue operation and search for victims of this tragedy.
According to the coordinator of the Civil Protection Service, Eugénio Laborinho, the collapse of DNIC building, that happened last Saturday at dawn, has already claimed 21 lives among them 10 men and 11 women.
Eugénio Laborinho said 147 people have been rescued alive, some are receiving medical assistance in various Luanda-based hospital units.

Rescue team continue working hard with view to remove other bodies trapped in debris, stressed the official, who ruled out the possibility of existing, in the site, of the National Police officers, as the 35 staff members who worked at the night shift, managed to walk out on time.
