Everybody has been asking themselves about what President Festus Mogae is going to do after he steps down tomorrow. "He is definitely going to be a busy man," answers Press Secretary to the President, Dr Jeff Ramsay.

He says that Mogae has received many invitations from international academic and research institutions but he has not made up his mind on which one to join. He added that international organisations such as the United Nations, African Union and Southern African Development Community have invited Mogae to join them. Anti-AIDS organisations are also interested in his services.

Ramsay said that even locals have come up with proposals on what the president should to do upon retirement. He denied knowledge of the establishment of a foundation in the near future.

"Mogae has got many advantages and opportunities because he was a member of the International Monetary Fund and has skills in economics and academics," he said. He added that Mogae will definitely venture into writing.

On whether it was possible for the President to call a press conference before he retires, Ramsay said he was too engaged but it could be considered especially that there had been requests from many people who wanted to have interviews with him. He added that the president will be busier in the coming months and might need to travel extensively.
