Asmara — Seizing power through manipulating the Ethiopian people's struggle and martyrdom, the TPLF regime turned its back on their dreams and aspirations and plunged the country into a quagmire of political and economic crisis. What is more, the Ethiopian people have had to deal with this tragic fate for the last 17 years.
The span of the years under the TPLF regime's reign has been a period in which different conflicts erupted in different parts of Ethiopia; the prevalence of poverty, backwardness and disease reached their peak; and where ethnic division has become the order of the day. The past 17 years has also been a period when the Ethiopian authorities continuously provoked conflict with all the country's neighbors while the prospect of peace, stability and development drifted further away from the grasp of the Ethiopian people. In short, the TPLF regime has turned Ethiopia into a hell on Earth. One of the main indicators of the competence of any government is its success in securing peace and development. Hence, we will look at the following few facts for a clearer understanding of the nature of the TPLF regime and the period of its stay in power.
1. Lack of peace and stability
The Ethiopian people have for half a century suffered a great deal as a result of the successive leaders' failed expansionist wars, and the last 17 years had been the worst in regards to poverty and the lack of peace and stability. Driven by its expansionist objectives, the TPLF regime launched a war of aggression against Eritrea, in which a massive number of Ethiopian youth had lost their lives. The minority clique went on to gamble with the lives of young Ethiopians and invaded Somalia in a bid to please its masters. The Ethiopian people's plight does not end in being dragged around into wars and conflicts; they have also had to suffer domestic instability. Brutally suppressing a people who had legally and peacefully made their choice clear, the TPLF anti-people regime is terrorizing its people through mass arrests and torture so as to secure its sub-national objectives and autocratic control.
2. Democracy dubbed ethnic division
The TPLF regime drafted and ratified a constitution that suited its sub-national politics without the Ethiopian people's blessing and has been suppressing the different Ethiopian nationalities under a so-called 'democratic' administration. The only outcome of such a narrow-minded approach has so far been ethnic conflicts and the eruption of violent armed oppositions against the regime.
3. Economic depression
For the past 17 years, the TPLF regime pursued an economic policy that secured the monopoly of a few illegal corporations administered by members of the clique, choked the private sector, denied opportunity to local investors, discouraged farmers and increased unemployment. Although the regime has been trying to deceive the people by flashing certificates that claim to 'prove Ethiopia's developmental progress,' the Ethiopian people are living in extreme poverty as a result of the clique's greed-driven and fraudulent economic policy.
4. Servitude as a culture and profession
Just as is the case with all regimes rebuffed by their own people, the TPLF regime had made itself available to be hired as an agent by anyone for any purpose. Being a discredited and illegal political force, the TPLF met all the criteria requirements for being an agent, and was thus hired as the number one agent in the Horn region. Bloated with pride for its status as a servant agent, the regime kept provoking conflicts with all neighboring countries and consequently degraded Ethiopia's image. Consequently, the main victims of the regime's adventurism are the Ethiopian people.
Having no clear national or political objective except its hunger for power and wealth, the TPLF regime played with the fate of the Ethiopian people for the past 17 years. However, the conflicts the regime instigated with its neighbors or within Ethiopia itself have back-fired, and thus put the regime in a very precarious position. Its anti-people policies have driven the TPLF towards a cliff and its desperate claims to save itself from ultimate downfall can no longer deceive anyone, for the Ethiopian people cannot be fooled twice. As the saying goes, if fooled once, the same is on the TPLF regime, but if fooled twice, the same will be on the Ethiopian people.

In what so ever criteria or measurement the Ethiopian government is much better than the dictator in Eritrea. According to the IMF and World Bank report Ethiopia is among one of fastest economy growing countries in Africa. Moreover, it is Eritrea who creates problem and clash with its own people and neighbors (Yemen, Sudan, Ethiopia, and Somalia) and which never has freedom of expression and election at all. "While you are pointing at your fingers on others four of your fingers are pointing at yourself. Therefore, this article better fits to the tyranny in Eritrea than in Ethiopia. Wedi Erie.
to be a progressive country it is not only to have elections in your country because the elected leaders if they don't agree with the greedy westrners intity even the people wants him is nothing so elections is of this mellenium tactic against poor countries , this doesn't mean that election is un necessary it is decisive phonemenon for a society or a country , so what eritrea doing is before this phonemenon there has to be economic emancipation and national integrity in order to survive democracy so regarding eritrea after this transitional period it is evitable to biuld democratic nation , MELES gain the leadership by slaughtering 200 young ethiopians because they vote against his clique is this election is this democracy by killing and raping your own citzens or invading others teritory , please don't parrot what the westerners say for their own interest
Oh Pls Mood Who is IMF And World Bank ain't they American the Ally of Ethiopia(meles). That what i was thinking be4,but after i saw Aljezeer clip. OMG don;t even talk about it. Just go to youtube and write Ogaden you will see it.
March 29, 2008 News: (Top 25 Woyanes have stashed 15-40 Million each in Swiss banks. 9 Million Ethiopians are facing starvation while Zenawi is making a fallacy about a 10% growth. According to a recent BBC report, 46% of the child mortality in Ethiopia is due to sanitation and lack of clean drinking water).
April 7, 2008 News: ONLF kills more Woyane, destroys several trucks, and more news. Meles Zenawi and Woyanes have shamelessly admitted that there are 250,000 beggars (90,000 in Addis alone), while boasting about a 10% economic fallacy. heheh
I wonder why “ALL Africa” posted such kind of rubbish and insulting article on its web, which raises question on the credibility and standard of the web site.
You want hide the Truth lol. You want banned like you did alot of the Ethiopian sites in Ethiopia.
The two liberation Fronts who finalized the defeat of the Mulitarity Junta in Ethiopia and Eritrea are called EPLF & TPLF except the E and T there is no difference in the names, however one was an ardent maioist and the other was floating between Marxism and Baasism. When you guys tell us the bad things of your opponent it is a bit confusing,b'cause you were both were idiologically on the same line ..anti imperialist, anti zionist, anti Eritrean National asperation..i.e. one Ethiopia at the cost of all nationalists..but only the Tigray Tigrigni Volks.
Who is who is difficult for us Eritreans..be it Prime Minister Melles or President Issayas Afewerki Abrha... both from the Adua region or Addi Abune area?
God Bless Eritrea/Hammassien/Seraye/Akale Quzai/Barka/Senhiet/Naqufa/and Dankalia etc..etc..
