Botswana: Bright Says He is Not Under Pressure

Botswana coach David Bright has said that his South African side Cape Town Santos is not under pressure after he masterminded the elimination of Moroka Swallows from the Nedbank Cup on Friday.
He told Monitor Sport from Johannesburg on Saturday morning that the rich vein of form does not mean the club is on the spot. He expressed confidence that he will guide the club to the final.
"Without undermining other sides, I think chances are there taking into consideration that either Sundowns or Kaizer Chiefs will be out on Monday," he said. He dismissed criticism that his side is not playing beautiful football. Some critics have said Santos play kick and hop football. "People do not understand our play. We minimise our short passes. If we were like they are saying, we would not be winning," he said. Bright said that in the opening half, they anticipated that Swallows would come strongly at them, hence their defensive approach. "That is why we used Musa (Otieno) in the midfield. In the second half, we changed and introduced Romano Scott," he said. Bright said despite the rich vein of form, they are under no pressure. He paid tribute to Batswana who have been behind him and said he would not disappoint them. Santos is the first side to reach the quarterfinals of the Nedbank Cup. They put up a brave fight to come from behind and beat Moroka Swallows 3-1 in an entertaining clash at Germinston Stadium on Friday night.
Santos started the game cautiously with a five-man defence and limited attacks. This did not stop Swallows from scoring through Japhet Zwane's header in the 33rd minute.

But Santos plundered three goals in the second half from Botswana international Mogogi Gabonamong, substitute Romano Scott and Erwin Isaacs to silence Swallows.
