In a space of less than a month, the President of the Republic, Yaya Jammeh, after taking over the Agriculture portfolio, has decided to assign the responsibility for Petroleum matters under his office, according to a news release broadcast by GRTS on March 25 2008.
According to the release, the president, acting under section 72 of the constitution, has decided to assign the responsibility for Petroleum matters from the Secretary of State for Energy, Hon. Ousman Jammeh to the office of the president. This new development stated the release, is effective Tuesday 25 March, 2008.
