missions of rescuing and saving the victims of the collapsed building of the National Criminal Investigation Department (DNIC), which occurred on Saturday at dawn, are set to end within the next 48 hours, predicts the Civil Protection Services.

This was announced on Monday by the co-ordinator of that institution, Eugenio Laborinho, whilst assessing the third day of rescuing activities.

"We will continue with the rescue works and might find victims on Tuesday. We have been counting and there are people still looking for their relatives", Eugenio Laborinho said.

On Tuesday, the site of the tragedy will start being surrounded, since it is creating traffic jam.

Eugenio Laborinho also expressed optimism at cleaning the area of the accident within 48 hours, followed by restoring the water and electricity supply to the surrounding buildings.
