1 April 2008

Luanda — Angola's Olympic Committee president (CPA), Leonel da Rocha Pinto, will run for African Sports Confederation for Disabled (ASCOD) during its electoral general assembly, slated for 2009, ANGOP has learnt.

The fact was confirmed in Luanda by CPA secretary general, António Manuel da Luz, who added that the bid of Leonel Pinto was proposed after a request from some members of the continental institution.

Leonel da Rocha Pinto is also the chairperson of Zone VI and deputy president of ASCOD for communication and marketing, as well as a member of International Paralympics Committee (IPC) finance commission.

Founded in 1987, African Sports Confederation for Disabled is led by Egyptian Nabill Salem.
