Two rowdy young men, who allegedly attacked an innocent man with a baseball bat, were last week denied bail by a Francistown Magistrate.

Kgosietsile Pilato, 23, and Boinelo Disang, 24, are said to have assaulted Koziba Mosutha after a heated argument at a shebeen in the Gerald Estates area of Francistown three years ago. It is alleged that the two and another suspect, who is still at large, attacked their victim with the metal bat resulting in permanent damage to his left eye.

After the attack, the suspects disappeared, but were captured and arrested early last week.

Magistrate Peggy Madandume remanded the two in custody until 4 April when they will appear again for mention. They have pleaded not guilty to a charge of grievous bodily harm.
