Harare — Lubumbashi Stars band member Frank Nyimbo died last week at his Harare home after a short illness.
Kaninda Mbala the founder of the group said Nyimbo succumbed to a kidney failure, a problem he developed in February.
Born in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Frank was one of the founder members of Lubumbashi Stars - a group that first took rhumba music by storm in the early 90s in the country. "Frank's death has left a very big gap in the group and the music industry at large, he was the only guy who could really play the drums," added Kaninda
His death comes at a time when the group was working on their new album -Rocket Live. He is survived by his wife and two children.
