The provision of bus and taxi rank in Gaborone and Gabane is the responsibility of the Gaborone City Council and Kweneng district council respectively.

Transport infrastructure such as ranks in Gaborone is the responsibility of Gaborone City Council and in Gabane it is the Kweneng District Council, says the Minister of Works and Transport Ms Lesego Motsumi.

Responding to a question in Parliament, the Minister said a total of 83 minibuses operate on the Gabane-Gaborone route.

The MP for Kweneng South East, Mr Mmoloki Raletobana had asked the minister to state the number of taxis operating on the Gabane-Gaborone route.

Mr Raletobana also asked the Minister to state where taxis park, and how her ministry intends resolving the problem of unavailability of a taxi rank resulting in combis using one bus stop in a congested area as a taxi rank.
