A 21-year-old woman has been arrested for allegedly murdering a 29-year-old man at Moshupa on Sunday.

Moshupa Police Station Commander, Mr Thapelo Ngiye said in an interview that the deceased had a deep wound on the neck which suggested that he had been stabbed with a sharp instrument.

Superintendent Ngiye,said the woman allegedly killed the man when they were returning from a drinking spree. He said they were still investigating the matter further to establish what could have happened and the names of the deceased are withheld.Superintendent Ngiye could not shed light on how the two were related.

In yet another incident, another 34-year-old Moshupa woman was arrested for allegedly causing death by dangerous driving. The incident occurred on Saturday in Modimele ward.

Superintendent Ngiye confirmed that a 33-year-old Moshupa man died in that accident.

Still in Moshupa, the police confiscated various goods suspected to have been stolen by 12 employees of China Estate Construction Company.

The suspects whose ages range between 21 years and 34 years are alleged to have stolen goods including 140 litres of diesel, 25 litres of hydraulic oil, 47 bags of cement and seven tyres.

Superintendent Ngiye further reported that six people among them four women and two men who bought the goods are likely to be charged for purchasing stolen goods.

He said buying stolen goods frustrates efforts to fight crime.

Meanwhile, Kanye Police have reported calm and peaceful Easter holidays. Kanye Station Commander, Superintendent Mpho Modisaotsile reported few assaults and break-ins.
